The Baltimore Hebrew Institute (formerly Baltimore Hebrew University) at Towson University is committed to supporting the education of Jewish studies scholars, educators and communal professionals. They also offer engaging non-degree courses and lectures that provide opportunities for adults to deepen their understanding of Jewish and Israeli culture, history, education and community.
(BHI) has three main areas of focus:
To provide outstanding opportunities for advanced degrees in leadership in Jewish education and communal service and Jewish studies in a vibrant, cohesive community.
To provide community enrichment in ways that engage and welcome all who are interested.
To provide adult learners with an array of continuing education course offerings, special programs and community lectures in Judaic studies. They also offer support for Jewish studies and leadership programs for graduate students.
BHI’s Joseph Meyerhoff Collection, a specialized academic library of Jewish studies, has been incorporated into Towson University’s Albert S. Cook Library.
The BHI Program Coordinator is Dr. Hana Bor, (410) 704-5026
